About DJ Stan Da Man
DJ Stan Da Man colourful music career began at school where he took up playing the guitar. Within a year he was asked to join both of the school bands. DJ Stan Da Man went on to become Guitarist of the Year 3 years consecutively. During this time Stan Da Man toured both Austria and Canada with the school band, all before the age of 15. DJ Stan Da Man also took up the Bass Guitar and form a band at school called Jammin, whereupon his teacher convinced them to enter the TSB Bank Rock School Competition in 1988. Jammin won all of their heats and found themselves in the final which was televised. After coming 3rd place in the final, Stan Da Man knew from that moment that he would be back.some day. He also entered the LWT Summer Arts Festival the following year, which was also televised. They came 3rd again, being beaten by a classical orchestra who came 1st and the RnB group Kreuz, who came 2nd. After leaving school DJ Stan Da Man went on to work in various establishments before being offered a job with his uncle, who worked in Sir Lloyd Sound System. From that moment, Stan knew that he wanted to be a DJ. In 1995 DJ Stan Da Man offered a job in a record shop in South London, where he was able to practice the art of mixing. This is where Stan's love for vinyl began as well as a continuing passion for House music and the up and coming Garage flavours. After a while customers would ask Stan Da Man ask for mixed tapes and cds. It was at this point Stan Da Man would move up the ranks within the DJing industry. Through a friend of his, DJ Stan Da Man secured a slot on pirate radio station Dance UK, whereupon arrival became one of their leading presenters. After two years with Dance UK, DJ Stan Da Man moved onto Supreme FM, Upfront FM & Flashback FM which lead to numerous club appearances. DJ Stan Da Man was also resident DJ at events such as Sexy, Climax, Club Prive, Lost In Muzik, Final Fantasy & The Lollipop Club. Stan Da Man has played along side the likes of Danny Foster, Marshall Jefferson, DJ Swing, Pied Piper, DJ Luck & MC Neat & So Solid Crew to name a few. Having played at most of the sought after gigs throughout the nineties and the early part of this millennium, DJ Stan Da Man took time away from radio to work on his own productions.
DJ Stan Da Man has featured on tracks with Romina Johnson (Movin Too Fast), Vula, Stevie Groove and Antonio(Hype Funk). More recently, Stan has worked with top producers and artists from the US. Having heard his material, producers have approached Stan for remixes. Stan has just completed two remixes for Rita Mosley (Bedrock & Water) & a remix for Chris Benson(Make It Drop) Stan has also written, produced & performed on his latest track (I Like The Way) which he hopes to release soon
